BOATING
Boating is permitted on Big Bear Lake. All types of boating activity is allowed including: water skiing, sailing, fishing, personal watercraft, float tubes, kayaking, canoeing and sailboarding. The maximum boat length is 26', and all vessels must be inspected and have a boat permit for Big Bear Lake before being launched. Privately owned boats can be launched or you can rent one from a local marina. The District has two public launch ramps on the North shore of the Lake where there is no cost for launching. Additionally, all hand launched vessels must be inspected prior to entry into the Lake. Click above for the rules and regulations specific to Big Bear Lake.

FISHING
Big Bear Lake is a premiere rainbow trout fishery and also boasts a good population of largemouth and smallmouth bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill, and carp. The Lake is stocked regularly throughout the year by the California Department of Fish and Game. The Fishing Association of Big Bear Lake and the October Troutfest also stock trout in conjunction with their annual fishing tournaments. RV PARK
BBMWD has a small lakefront RV Park with a quiet atmosphere and conveniently located within walking distance to the village which has numerous shops, restaurants and movie theaters. Also, the park is adjacent to a full service marina. CLICK HERE for more information.
MARINAS
There are a number of private marinas on Big Bear Lake, all of which are shown on the lake facilities map. CLICK HERE to view facilities map.
Offers the best mountain lake fishing and water sport adventures in Southern California. You may choose to cruise the lake in one of their comfortable pontoon boats that can accommodate up to 12 people, or spend the day fishing for rainbow trout, bass, catfish or panfish from their outboard fishing boats. For those looking for the wilder side, they have jet skis, water skiing and wake boarding available, or you can get a good workout plying the waters of Big Bear Lake in a pedal boat, canoe or kayak. Their facility has a launch ramp, slip rentals and they sell fishing licenses, bait, tackle, beer, soda, snacks and gift items. Big Bear Marina is home of the Big Bear Queen lake tours as well as professional fishing guide services to ensure a memorable day on the lake. They have ample parking and welcome large coaches and buses. Big Bear Marina is open 7 days a week, sunrise to sunset from April to November, weather permitting. CAPTAIN JOHN’S FAWN HARBOR & MARINA

Pine Knot Landing is a full service marina located at the foot of the village on Pine Knot Ave. They offer rentals of fishing boats, pontoon boats, speed boats, canoes, and kayaks. They offer parasailing, waterskiing, and jet skiing. They have slip and mooring buoys for rent, they sell gas and have a complete marine hardware and repair facility including boat sales.

ADOPT-A-SHORELINE
The Adopt-a-Shoreline program is designed to have volunteers adopt a section of the shoreline or trash can, and help keep that specific area clean throughout the season. It is structured much like the very successful Adopt-a-Highway program sponsored by CalTrans. This is an excellent opportunity for kids, adults and community groups to participate in a great outdoor activity, help the environment, and keep Big Bear Lake beautiful too! SWIMMING is allowed within 50 feet of the shore, within a designated swimming area (Swim Beach), within 20 feet of a private dock, or as incidental or necessary to waterskiing, wakeboarding, jetskiing, sailboarding, or in an emergency.
